Best Places To Live In Sin CIty

Visitors to Las Vegas may see the city as an endless playground filled with gambling, drinking and partying, but locals know there is more to Sin City than just The Strip.

Las Vegas is home to a number of great neighborhoods and affordable rentals close to shopping, schools and outdoor recreation. Renters can get added bang for their buck when they decide to roll the dice and live in Las Vegas because the majority of rentals are larger single-family homes.

According to HotPads’ data, the median rental price for a single-family home in Sin City is $1,200. Those looking for a one-bedroom apartment can expect to pay under $800 and around $850 for a two-bedroom rental.

Curious what some of the best neighborhoods are to live in Las Vegas? Here are our top choices.

Known as one of the largest planned communities in the US, Summerlin covers 22,500-acres which includes a downtown retail center, residential living and communities centers and parks. Single family homes for rent in this Las Vegas neighborhood come in a variety of architectural styles or, you can also choose to rent an apartment in the mixed use residential area of Summerlin which has more of an urban feel.

The neighborhood is a favorite for families, empty nesters or students, being a stone’s throw from the Community College of Southern Nevada and a 25-minute drive to the University Nevada-Las Vegas campus.

While technically its own city, Henderson definitely deserves consideration for those moving to the Las Vegas area. As Las Vegas’ largest suburb, Henderson is where many of the city dwellers with kids eventually end up and Greenvalley is one of our favorite Henderson neighborhoods. Safe and packed with amenities, Greenvalley is a master planned community dating back to the late 1970s. The neighborhood is divided between Greenvalley North and Greenvalley South. Expect lots of shopping close by and bars and restaurants in the Greenvalley Ranch district.
