10 Cute Home Decor Projects With Reclaimed Wood

With Fall just a couple of weeks away, we’ve got trees on the mind. Along with planting and protecting trees, it’s important to make good use of found natural materials, including fallen branches and reclaimed wood. Turn branches into coasters, extra pallets into art, or try any other of these 10 cute home decor projects made from reclaimed wood.

1. Cut a Fallen Branch into Coasters

Branch Coasters via Stephanie @ Garden Therapy

Turn a fallen branch from your yard into sweet and useful decor for your coffee table by cutting it into perfect wood slices. You can stain your coasters, or simply add a protective coat of polyurethane to keep them authentic.
2. Fashion a Tree Stump Table

Tree Stump Tables via Jae @ Design O.C.D.

For a fun natural accent in your living room or bedroom, add a small tree stump table to your decor. The knots, holes and irregularities in your tree stump make it one-of-a-kind, so embrace them and accentuate them by leaving your table as natural as possible.

3. Create a Vertical Flower Pot Holder

With one plank of reclaimed wood, you can create an adorable flower pot display for your porch, or even an easy vertical herb garden to keep by a window in your kitchen! Simply add some hose clamps big enough to hold your pots, and you’re ready to add your plants.

4. Build a Pipe-Handled Wood Tray

Perfect for breakfast in bed or a cozy movie night, this reclaimed-wood bed tray is an easy DIY that doesn’t need very many materials at all. Use plain metal pipes, give they a paint job, or replace them with bright copper pipes instead.

5. Frame Wood Block Art

If you can get your hands on some wood scraps, or if you’ve already got a bucket saved from past woodworking projects, turn the pieces into wall art with a geometric appeal. Arrange your pieces, stained or left natural, on a blank canvas and add a bold frame, to turn old wood into a new masterpiece.

6. Pallet Letter Wall Decor

Using panels from a free pallet, create a large framed letter, perfect for a front door decoration or a lovely housewarming gift. Seal it with polyurethane or a clear wax to protect it from weather damage.

7. Cover a Plain Buffet with Wood Panels

If you’ve got a boring piece of furniture that you’d like to upgrade with some personality, try a stained wood plank cover. With strong glue and a few wood screws, you can give the most uninteresting piece a rustic facelift and make it completely unrecognizable.

8. Make a Pallet Piece Shelf

For a fun and colorful reclaimed wood craft, turn pieces of pallet into this chippy gardening supply shelf or coat rack. Combine vintage features too, by adding wooden spools along the bottom of the shelf as knobs to hang tools or jackets from. This vibrant piece would be perfect for brightening up a dim entryway or adding color to a porch.

9. Turn a Full Pallet into a Shelf
